This was done a long time ago. Today’s post by Gary.W.Bowers about lacrimal ductwork brought it to mind. I think it is about as poetical a ductwork illustration can be.

And Oh WoW! I’ve just found my birthday present! I now need a Charles Sheeler book. I did not know him, although I expect I’ve seen his work over the years, in that short dimly lit section between the impressionists and the twelve foot tall blood red painting with a white squiggly stripe down the middle….
And since we are in the industrial landscape, how about a trip into the world of another great american artist: Andreas Feininger ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andreas_Feininger ) . But more than Industry: the patterns, the structure, the crispness of black and white!
